Hosts Denmark, seeking to regain the Thomas Cup trophy that they won in 2016, have their task cut out when they start their campaign at the TotalEnergies Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2020.
The Danes, the only non-Asian winners of the Thomas Cup, are in challenging Group B with Korea, France and Germany. The tournament is being held in Aarhus from 9 to 17 October 2021.

The draws for the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup (World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships), were made in Kuala Lumpur by BWF.
Indonesia, who have won the Thomas Cup a record 13 times, are in Group A with Chinese Taipei, Algeria and Thailand. Defending champions China are in Group C with India, Netherlands and Tahiti, while last edition runners-up Japan are in Group D with Malaysia, Canada and England.
Group A: Indonesia (1), Chinese Taipei (5/8), Algeria, Thailand.
Group B: Denmark (3/4), Korea (5/8), Germany, France.
Group C: China (3/4), India (5/8), Netherlands, Tahiti.
Group D: Japan (2), Malaysia (5/8), England, Canada.
Meanwhile, in the Uber Cup, defending champions Japan are in Group A with Indonesia, Germany and France. China, who have won the tournament 14 times but failed to make the final in 2018 for the first time since they started participating in the 1980s, are in Group D with Denmark, Malaysia and Canada.

Group B: Thailand (3/4), India (5/8), Spain, Scotland.
Group C: Korea (3/4), Chinese Taipei (5/8), Tahiti, Egypt.
Group D: China (2), Denmark (5/8), Malaysia, Canada.
Last edition runners-up Thailand will be challenged by India, Spain and Scotland in Group B, while Group C features Korea, Chinese Taipei, Tahiti and Egypt.
