China wins Uber Cup for the 15th timeoktober 17, 2021 12:50
Four matches were played in the Uber Cup final in Ceres Arena, Aarhus, where China beat the former champions of Japan and got another trophy.
For the 15th time China has won the Uber Cup – world championships for women’s team. Late Saturday evening the Chinese women won 3-1 against Japan.
The latter got a good start to the final, where Akane Yamaguchi beat the Olympic Champion, Chen Yufei 21-8, 21-10.
Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan equalized after three close sets against Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto.
China took the lead in the final, when He Bing Jiao won her game in the second women’s singles.
And after being down with a few game points in the second set Huang Dong Ping and Li Wen Hei secured the trophy by beating Misaki Matsutomo og Nami Matsuyama.
Congratulations to China!
Sunday at 1.00 PM Indonesia and Japan will face each other in the Thomas Cup final.
